How to use these prompts

Copy a prompt, replace every [BRACKETED] part with your real details, and send it. If the answer is generic, add one more constraint (reader, length, example) in the same chat.

Tip: upload your photo first, ask for ONE change per turn, and always say what must stay the same. Gemini marks AI-generated images with Google's SynthID watermark. Only edit photos of people who have agreed to it.

#28Clean product shot from a phone photo

Using the photo I uploaded, place the same [PRODUCT] on a clean [COLOR] studio background with soft even light and a subtle contact shadow. Keep the product shape, colours, label text and logo exactly as in the photo. Square format. No props, no extra text.

#29Background swap for a portrait (with consent)

Using the photo I uploaded of [ME / A PERSON WHO AGREED], replace the background with [NEW SETTING, e.g. a bright modern office]. Keep the face, hairstyle, expression, clothing and pose exactly the same. Match the light direction and colour of the new background to the face so it looks natural.

#30Restyle a room

Using the photo of my [ROOM], show it redecorated in [STYLE, e.g. Japandi] style: change the furniture, textiles and wall colour, but keep the windows, doors, floor plan and camera angle exactly the same. Then list the main items you changed.

#31Combine two images

Using image 1 (my [PRODUCT]) and image 2 (a [SCENE]), place the product naturally into the scene on [SURFACE]. Keep the product identical to image 1. Match the perspective, shadows and colour temperature of image 2.

#32Poster with exact text

Create a [W:H, e.g. vertical 4:5] poster for [EVENT]. Headline, in large bold sans-serif: "[EXACT HEADLINE]". Smaller line: "[DATE AND PLACE]". Visual: [DESCRIPTION]. Colour palette: [COLOURS]. Keep all text spelled exactly as written and fully inside the frame.

#33Consistent character across scenes

Here is my original character [UPLOAD OR DESCRIBE: name, look, outfit, colours]. Draw the same character in [SCENE 1]. Keep face, hair, outfit and colours identical. (Next turn: "Same character, now in [SCENE 2]. Change only the scene and pose.")

Everyday Gemini Chat prompts

#1The better-question prompt

I want help with [GOAL]. Before you answer, ask me the 5 questions a real expert in [FIELD] would ask first. Wait for my answers, then give me a step-by-step plan with the first action I can take today.

#2Explain it at three levels

Explain [TOPIC] three times: first for a 12-year-old in 4 sentences, then for a smart adult new to the field in one paragraph, then for a practitioner with the key terms and one common misconception. End with 3 questions I can use to check I understood.

#3Decision table

I am choosing between [OPTION A], [OPTION B] and [OPTION C] for [PURPOSE]. My priorities, in order: [1], [2], [3]. Build a table that scores each option 1-5 on each priority with one line of reasoning per score, then give your recommendation and the one fact that would change it. Mark any number you are not sure of as [CHECK].

#4Rewrite in my voice

Here are 3 samples of my writing: [PASTE]. Describe my style in 5 bullets (sentence length, tone, words I use, what I avoid). Then rewrite this text in that style without adding new claims: [PASTE].

Deep Research promptsDeep Research

Tip: Deep Research shows its research plan first. Read it and edit it before you press start. A good plan is half the report.

#8Market snapshot

Research the market for [PRODUCT / SERVICE] in [COUNTRY / REGION] for [YEAR RANGE]. I am deciding whether to [DECISION]. Cover market size estimates with their sources, the main customer segments, the top 8 competitors with pricing models, growth drivers, and risks. Put the competitors in a table. End with a list of numbers that sources disagree on, showing the range.

#9Competitor teardown

Research [COMPETITOR NAME] ([WEBSITE]). Summarise what they sell, pricing as published on their site, positioning, target customers, recent launches and announcements from the last 12 months, and what customers praise and complain about in public reviews. Separate facts from your interpretation. Cite every claim.

#10Buy decision for a big purchase

Research [PRODUCT CATEGORY, e.g. heat pumps for a 120 m2 house in Germany]. My budget is [AMOUNT], my must-haves are [LIST]. Compare the 5 most recommended options from independent reviews and official spec sheets, list typical running costs, installation gotchas, and which subsidies or rules apply in [REGION]. Flag anything that is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent test.

Canvas: Documents and Mini Apps promptsCanvas

Tip: in Canvas, highlight a sentence or block and ask for a change to that part only. It is faster and safer than regenerating everything.

#15First draft with structure

In Canvas, write a [DOCUMENT TYPE, e.g. project proposal] for [AUDIENCE] about [TOPIC]. Use these sections: [LIST]. Target length [N] words. Use short paragraphs and descriptive headings. Leave [NEEDED: ...] placeholders for any number or name I have not given you instead of inventing one.

#17Landing page as a working web page

In Canvas, build a single-page HTML landing page for [PRODUCT] aimed at [AUDIENCE]. Sections: hero with headline and button, 3 benefits, how it works in 3 steps, 4 FAQs, footer. Clean modern style, mobile friendly, one accent colour [HEX]. Use placeholder text in brackets where I need to add real details. Show me the preview.

Gems and Skills: Reusable Instructions prompts

How to use: create a new Gem or Skill in your Gemini app, paste the text below as its instructions, add any knowledge files it mentions, and save. From then on you only send the material, not the instructions.

#21Weekly report writer

You turn my rough weekly notes into a status report for [MANAGER / TEAM]. Structure: 3-line summary, done this week, next week, risks and blockers, help needed. Use plain language, max 250 words, no hype words. If a task has no owner or date, add [OWNER?] or [DATE?]. Never invent progress that is not in my notes.

Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides prompts

Use these in the Gemini side panel of the app named, or in the Gemini app with the file or thread @-mentioned. Availability depends on your plan.

#36Gmail: inbox catch-up

Summarise the unread emails from the last [N] days that need a reply from me. Group them: urgent, this week, FYI. For each: sender, one-line ask, and a suggested next step. Do not draft replies yet.

#39Sheets: formulas and insight

In this sheet, column [X] has [WHAT] and column [Y] has [WHAT]. Write the formula to [GOAL, e.g. sum sales per month per region], explain it in one line, then tell me 3 patterns or outliers you see in the data and how sure you are about each.

Files, PDFs and YouTube prompts

#41Long PDF to the parts that matter

I uploaded [DOCUMENT, e.g. a 60-page contract / report]. Give me: a 10-line summary, the 5 clauses or findings that matter most for [MY SITUATION] with page numbers, anything unusual or risky, and questions I should ask before [DECISION]. This is not legal or financial advice; flag where a professional should check.

Learning and Gemini Live (Voice) prompts

#44Learn a skill in 30 days

I want to learn [SKILL] to the level where I can [CONCRETE GOAL]. I have [N] minutes a day. Build a 30-day plan with one small daily task, a weekly checkpoint, free resources to use, and the most common beginner mistake to avoid each week. Quiz me at the end of each week when I come back to this chat.

How to use Gemini (the 5-minute version)

Gemini is Google's AI assistant. It lives at gemini.google.com, in the Gemini app on Android and iPhone, and inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides. These five habits fix most weak answers.

Pick the right model

Use the fast model for rewrites and quick answers. Switch to the thinking or Pro model for plans, maths, code and long documents.

Switch on the tool first

Deep Research, Canvas and image creation sit under the plus (+) or Tools menu next to the prompt box. Turn the tool on before you send the prompt.

Edit photos one change at a time

Upload the photo, ask for one change and say what must stay the same: face, pose, product label, background.

Give it your real material

Paste the text, upload the PDF or mention the Drive file with @. Real context beats a clever prompt.

Refine in the same chat

Say "shorter", "add a table" or "keep everything except the headline". Do not start over for a small fix.

A Gemini prompt template you can reuse

Replace every [BRACKETED] part. Keep the last line: it stops the AI from guessing.

You are [ROLE]. I need [DELIVERABLE] for [AUDIENCE]. Context: [FACTS OR FILE]. Constraints: [LENGTH, TONE, MUST INCLUDE]. Format: [TABLE / BULLETS / EMAIL]. If something important is missing, ask me up to 3 questions first.

FAQ

What is the best prompt for Gemini AI?

The best Gemini prompts name a role, the exact deliverable, your real context and the format you want. For photo edits, ask for one change per message and list what must stay the same. Every prompt on this page follows that pattern.

How do I edit a photo with a Gemini prompt?

Open Gemini, upload your photo, switch on image creation if your app shows it, then paste one of the image prompts above. Gemini uses Google's Nano Banana image model for these edits and marks AI images with a SynthID watermark. Only edit photos of people who agreed to it.

Are these Gemini prompts free?

Yes. The 20 prompts on this page are free to copy and use. The full Gemini Prompts Pack has 45 prompts plus a starter guide and costs $9, or it is included in KissMySkills Pro.

Do these prompts work in the free Gemini app?

Most of them do. Deep Research, some Workspace features and higher image limits depend on your Google plan and region, so a few prompts note "if your plan includes it".

Can I use these prompts in ChatGPT or Claude?

The chat and research prompts work in any assistant. The image, Gems and Workspace prompts are written for Gemini features. See our ChatGPT and Claude prompt pages for versions tuned to those tools.
