The sheet shows the mistakes. Explaining them is the job.

A worksheet tells you who is stuck. These AI skills plug into Claude, ChatGPT or any AI chat and help with what comes next: explaining a step, making more practice and checking homework.

A math worksheet generator that teachers can trust

This math worksheet generator builds printable practice sheets for the four operations and for fractions in a few clicks. You choose the operations, the number range for each one, the layout and the number of problems. The tool writes the problems, lays them out on pages that fit both Letter and A4 paper, and adds an answer key on its own page. Everything runs in your browser: no account, no upload, no watermark.

It is built for the jobs that come up every week in a classroom or at home: a quick warm-up, a homework page, a timed facts drill, a review before a test, or extra practice for one student who needs it. Because the problems are random but repeatable, you can make a fresh version for every class and still reprint any of them later.

How to make a printable math worksheet

    1. Start from a preset such as "Times tables 2-12" or "Adding fractions", or tick the operations you want. Tick several to make a mixed review sheet; the problems are shared out evenly and shuffled.
    2. Set the number ranges. Each operation has its own minimum and maximum for each number, so a mixed sheet can combine addition within 20 with multiplication facts up to 10 x 10. Use 0-10 for early number facts, 10-99 for two-digit work and 100-999 for three-digit work.
    3. Pick a layout. Horizontal problems (7 + 5 = ___) are compact and good for fact fluency. Vertical problems stack the numbers in a column with right-aligned digits in a monospaced font, which is how students practise regrouping and borrowing. Vertical division uses the long division bracket.
    4. Choose problems and columns. Up to 100 problems in 2 to 5 columns. Long sheets flow onto extra pages automatically, and a problem is never cut in half by a page break.
    5. Print or save as PDF. The print button sends only the worksheet to the printer, without the website around it. Choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog to keep a file or share it with students online.

    Options for each operation

    Addition and subtraction worksheets

For subtraction, the "no negative answers" option puts the larger number first, which is what most early grades expect. Turn it off if your students are working with integers and negative results.

    Multiplication worksheets

Set both factors to 2-12 for times tables, or fix one factor (for example 7 to 7) to drill a single table. For multi-digit multiplication, use a vertical layout; the tool leaves extra space under each problem for partial products.

    Division worksheets

With "whole numbers only", you set the range of the answer and of the divisor, and every problem divides exactly. With remainders, you set the dividend and divisor ranges and the answer key shows results such as 47 R 2. A divisor of zero is never used.

    Fraction worksheets

Choose adding, subtracting or both, with like denominators (same bottom number) or unlike denominators, between 2 and 20. The fractions in each problem are proper and already in lowest terms. The answer key can simplify every result to lowest terms and write improper fractions as mixed numbers, so 7/4 becomes 1 3/4.

Seed codes: the same sheet again, on purpose

Every worksheet has a short seed code printed in its footer. The same seed with the same settings always gives exactly the same problems in the same order. Write the code in your plan book and you can reprint a lost sheet, make the answer key for a sheet you printed last month, or give a colleague the code so both classes do identical work. Press "New sheet" for a different set of problems with the same settings, which is handy for version A and version B of a quiz.

The generator also avoids repeating a problem on one sheet whenever the range has enough different problems. If you ask for 40 problems from a range that only has 25, it tells you and then allows repeats rather than failing.

Tips for using math worksheets well

    • Keep fact drills short and frequent. A 20-problem sheet done often tends to work better than one long sheet a week.
    • Mix operations only after each one is secure on its own; a mixed sheet checks that students read the sign.
    • Use the answer key for self-checking: students mark their own work and redo the ones they missed.
    • Track progress by reusing the same seed after a few weeks and comparing scores.

    FAQ

Is this math worksheet generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit and no watermark. The worksheets are generated in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers. You can print as many sheets as you need for your class or your own children.

How do I save a worksheet as a PDF?

Press "Print or save as PDF" and choose "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF") as the printer in the print dialog. Only the worksheet and the answer key are printed, without the website around them, and the pages fit both Letter and A4 paper.

Can I make the same worksheet again later?

Yes. Each sheet has a seed code in its footer. Type the same seed and use the same settings, and the generator rebuilds exactly the same problems in the same order, together with the same answer key.

Does the answer key show remainders and simplified fractions?

Yes. Division with remainders is shown as, for example, 47 R 2. Fraction answers can be simplified to lowest terms and written as mixed numbers such as 1 3/4. You can also download the answer key as a CSV file.

    What grades is it for?

You control the number ranges, so it works from kindergarten counting facts up to multi-digit multiplication, long division and fractions in grades 4 to 6. The presets cover common starting points such as addition within 10 and times tables 2-12.
