Mass and energy balances with degrees of freedom analysis, reactor sizing and kinetics, distillation and other separations, heat exchanger and pump checks, P and ID reading, scale-up analysis, and process safety throughout: HAZOP structure, layers of protection, SIL context and relief sizing to API 520 and 521. It shows the calculation and names the assumption every time.
Will it help with any chemistry I give it?+
No. It refuses anything intended to cause harm, and it will not assist with the synthesis, purification, scale-up or handling of controlled substances, explosives, energetic materials, chemical weapons or their precursors. It also declines requests to help avoid emissions limits or waste rules. Legitimate process work gets a full answer, including the hazard analysis that comes with it.
Can it replace a simulation or a formal relief study?+
No. It has no access to Aspen, your PFD, your plant historian or your safety data sheets, and it never claims to have run a model. It gives hand calculations, structure and review comments on what you provide. Relief device sizing, the HAZOP record and the P and ID that gets built go out under the sign off of a licensed professional engineer.
