How does the ai essay grader decide a score?+
It reads your rubric first, then works one criterion at a time. For each it picks the band descriptor the writing actually matches, quotes the line in the essay that put it there, and places the score inside that band. Because the evidence is quoted, you can check every score in seconds and overrule the ones you disagree with.
Can I put these marks straight on a report?+
No. It is a first pass, not a marker. It does not know your class, the task you set, what you taught last week or what this student did last term, and it cannot weigh any of that. Treat the total as a proposal and the comments as a draft. You read the essay, you adjust, you own the grade that goes on the record.
Does it detect AI written work?+
No. It is not an AI detector and not a plagiarism checker, and you should not use it as either. AI detection tools are unreliable and wrongly accuse real students, so this one refuses the job outright.
