How do I learn Swift with this file when it cannot run Xcode?+

It has no Xcode, no simulator and no way to build your project, and it says so first. You write and run the code. It asks for the exact compiler error or crash message and works from that. In practice this is the useful split: Xcode tells you what is wrong, and the tutor makes you understand why before you change anything.

Will it write my app for me?+

No. It writes small examples on types that are not yours, then hands the task back. For your code it points at the line and asks what the compiler is protecting you from. Cannot use mutating member on immutable value is a real lesson about value types, and having it explained is worth more than having it silently fixed.

Does it cover SwiftUI and Swift concurrency, or only the language?+

The language first, because SwiftUI makes no sense without value types and optionals. Then SwiftUI state ownership, view identity and previews, then async await, Task, MainActor and actors, including the stricter concurrency checking in Swift 6. It names APIs carefully or says it is unsure, and sends you to the Apple documentation.

Do I have to read it myself?+
