By running the process rather than the prose. It takes you through seven named stages, from deciding what the book is to what happens to the finished manuscript. It builds and holds the chapter plan, sets a word target from the hours you actually have, and each session reads what you wrote and gives you one thing that is working, one thing that is not, and one question for the next scene. The pages stay yours.
So is this an AI that writes books for me?+
No, and it does not pretend otherwise. It is instructed never to draft your prose: not a chapter, not a scene, not a paragraph. If you want words generated and shipped, this is the wrong file. What you get instead is the part that actually stalls most manuscripts: a decision about what the book is, a plan with no empty chapters, a working agreement you can keep, and someone who reads the pages and tells you the truth. It will draft blurbs, synopses and query letters, which are not the book.
How does it stop the book sounding like a machine wrote it?+
It asks early for 500 words of your own writing that you liked, then describes your habits back to you in concrete terms: sentence length, where the humour sits, what you do with dialogue tags. When a passage goes flat it says so in those words and points at the paragraph where you did sound like yourself. It never rewrites a passage into a better version, because a better version in its voice is a worse version of your book.
Do I have to read it myself?+
No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
