How is this random story generator different from a list of writing prompts?+
A prompt list hands you a sentence. This rolls three elements that were not chosen to go together, a genre, a named working character and a conflict that bites on the first page, then adds a constraint, a first line and a time box. It is built for speed: the aim is to have you typing within thirty seconds, not choosing between ideas.
Are the ideas original, or lifted from books and films?+
Original. It is instructed never to produce a setup that belongs to an existing published book, film, series or game, never to cast a character another author created, and never to put a real named living person into a scenario. If a roll drifts towards something recognisable, it rerolls that element before showing it to you.
Should I use this to pick my next book?+
No, and it says so. A roll is disposable: it only has to survive ten minutes. It is a warm up for the days the page is empty, not a way to choose a project you will spend months on. If you want developed premises to judge and commit to, that is a different job and this one stays out of it.
Do I have to read it myself?+
No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
Is this a physical book?+
