The hardcoded credentials go first - move them into n8n's credential store today, rotate the exposed key at the API side, and grep every Code node for other secrets while you are there; one leaked workflow export otherwise ships your keys. The morning pileup is architecture: default n8n runs executions in the main process, so switch to queue mode with Redis and a couple of workers, and bursts stop blocking the editor and each other. Check your execution retention too - a database bloated with old execution data slows everything quietly. Error workflows with alerting per critical path round it out. Send me the instance's environment config and I'll mark the queue-mode changes line by line.
