Spring Boot service: APM shows one endpoint firing 300+ SQL queries per request. Hibernate. You already know what it is, right?

N+1, yes - but the fix is not sprinkling EAGER, which just moves the explosion to every other endpoint. Turn on hibernate.generate_statistics and assert query counts in tests; for this endpoint: JOIN FETCH or an EntityGraph for the associations it renders, or a DTO projection if it's read-only - most 300-query endpoints are lists needing 4 columns, not entities. Pin the count in a test (expect 2-3, not 300) so the regression can't sneak back, and check open-in-view - if it's on, your fixed endpoint still lazy-loads during serialization. Paste the entity graph and I'll write the fetch plan.
