Flutter app drops to 45fps on list scroll. DevTools: raster thread fine, UI thread spiking. What's the usual culprit?

UI thread spiking with a clean raster thread means too much widget tree rebuilt per frame - the 16ms budget dies in build(), not in painting. Culprits in order: a setState high in the tree rebuilding the entire list (check DevTools' rebuild counter), missing const constructors so identical widgets rebuild anyway, and list children doing work in build - date formatting, image decode decisions. itemExtent or prototypeItem alone often buys back 10fps on long lists by killing layout speculation; Selector or ValueListenableBuilder narrows scope where state must live high. Share the rebuild stats and I'll name the offender.
