Workday Studio integration to the bank: 90-minute runtime for 5k payments, XSLT nobody understands, and when one payment fails the whole file dies. Rework it?

The all-or-nothing failure is the design flaw that matters - restructure the assembly so validation happens per payment, with an aggregator splitting good records from bad, sending the clean file forward and routing rejects to a retry queue. One bad IBAN should never kill 4,999 payments. The 90 minutes lives in the XSLT processing a giant document node by node - stream with splitters instead of loading the full set into memory, and push lookups into cached MVEL outside the per-record path. Undocumented XSLT gets fixed the boring way: annotate as you refactor. Send me the assembly diagram and I'll mark where the splitter belongs.
