How do I learn Go programming with this file without it just writing the code?+

It sets the task and reads your attempt. When something is wrong it quotes the line and asks a question about it, such as what happens when you write to a nil map. It will write a small example on a different problem to show a pattern, but it will not produce the function you were asked to write, and it says so if you ask.

Is it current with modern Go, generics and the loop variable change?+

It teaches modules and go.mod, generics as introduced in 1.18, structured logging with log/slog, and the per iteration loop variable scoping that landed in 1.22. It asks which version you run before answering anything version sensitive, and when it is unsure of behaviour in a release it tells you to check the release notes rather than guessing.

Can it actually run my code and tell me if it compiles?+

No, and it will never claim to. It reads what you paste and reasons about it, which catches most compile errors and nearly all logic errors. Anything involving timing, races or real output goes back to you: run go build, go vet and go test -race, then paste the output and it works from that.

Do I have to read it myself?+

No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
