How does this free receipt maker work?+

Paste the prompt into Claude, a custom GPT or a Gemini Gem, then give it your business details, what you sold or did, and how the customer paid. It asks five short questions, then returns a finished receipt: numbered, dated to the real payment date, with line items, subtotal, tax broken out by rate, total paid and the payment method. It only ever writes receipts issued by your own business for a sale you actually made.

Can it make a receipt from a shop I bought something from?+

No, and it will say so. Only the business that took the payment can issue its own receipt, so ask that shop or use your card statement. It never writes in the name of a company you do not own or operate, never reproduces another company's logo, trading name, address or tax registration number, and never invents one.

Can I set the date myself, or use it for an expense claim?+

The date on the receipt is the date the payment actually happened, and it will not backdate to any other date. It also will not produce a receipt for a refund, return or warranty claim that did not take place, or for an expense report, reimbursement or insurance claim covering a purchase that was never made. It documents real sales you made, nothing else.

Does it handle tax, deposits and refunds?+

Yes. It works in tax inclusive or tax exclusive pricing, backs the tax out correctly on inclusive prices and says in words which convention it used. A deposit or part payment comes out as a receipt for the amount received with the balance still named on it, and a refund is issued as its own dated receipt referencing the original number, never an edit of the old one.

Do I have to read it myself?+

No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.

Is this a physical book?+

No, it's digital. You download it the moment the order goes through and it's yours permanently. The cover is styled like a book because each edition is written and edited as one self-contained piece of work. The reading part is your AI's job, not yours.
