KissMySkills (Dzmitry Pliachko KREAL, Wrocław, Poland) holds data that belongs to our customers. This page explains how we handle requests from public authorities for that data.
Our principles
- Customer first. We ask the authority to contact the customer that controls the data directly, whenever that is possible.
- Notice. Before disclosing customer data, we notify the affected customer, unless the law prohibits it or there is an emergency involving a risk to life. If we are barred from notifying, we try to get that restriction lifted and notify once it ends.
- Valid legal process only. We need a written request issued under applicable law by an authority with jurisdiction. We do not respond to informal requests for customer data.
- Challenge. We review every request. If we have reasonable grounds to think a request is unlawful, too broad or outside the authority's powers, we challenge it, including in court where that is reasonable.
- Minimum disclosure. If we must disclose, we give only the data the request lawfully requires, interpreted narrowly.
- No backdoors. We have not built, and will not voluntarily build, any backdoor or mechanism that gives authorities direct access to our systems or customer data, and we do not hand over encryption keys voluntarily.
- Record. We keep an internal record of every request and our response.
Emergency requests
If an authority tells us there is an imminent risk of death or serious injury, we may disclose the minimum information needed to prevent it, and we will notify the customer as soon as the law allows.
How authorities should contact us
Send requests in writing to hello@kissmyskills.com, in Polish or English, with the legal basis, the issuing authority, the specific account or data concerned and a contact person. Requests concerning data in a customer's workspace should go to that customer first.
