My Python bot lost its TWS connection overnight and kept 'trading' against stale data for 6 hours. How do I make this safe to run unattended?

Three layers: a keepalive that expects tick data every N seconds and halts on staleness, position reconciliation against the broker every 5 minutes so internal state can't drift from reality, and a dead-man rule that cancels working orders and flattens if the watchdog fires. TWS also restarts nightly by default - handle the scheduled drop explicitly or it becomes a daily incident. Show me your reconnect logic and I'll harden the failure paths.
