What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment measures how prepared your organization is to use AI safely and get real value from it. Instead of asking whether you have bought AI licences, it looks at five dimensions: strategy and leadership, data and infrastructure, people and skills, tools and processes, and governance and risk. Most companies are uneven - strong on tools, weak on policy, or the other way round - and the weakest dimension usually limits everything else.
How this AI maturity assessment is scored
Each of the 20 questions has four answers worth 0 to 3 points. Every dimension gets a score from 0 to 100, and the overall score is the average of the five. The result maps to a maturity level: Exploring (0-25), Experimenting (26-50), Operational (51-75) or Scaling (76-100). The recommendations focus on your two lowest dimensions, because that is where the next unit of effort pays back most.
What to do after the AI readiness checklist
If governance scores low, start with a written AI acceptable use policy - our free AI policy template is a good first draft. If people score low, plan role-based AI literacy training before rolling out more licences. If tools and processes score low, pick two or three use cases and run a time-boxed pilot with a baseline and a success metric. Re-take the assessment every quarter to see whether the score actually moves.
