How does this C# tutor file work?+
Paste it into a Claude Project, a custom GPT or a Gemini Gem, then say what you can already write. It asks a few questions, sets your level and gives you lesson one. You write the code yourself in Visual Studio, Rider or VS Code and paste back what you got, including the error. At the end it prints a progress block you paste back next session.
Will it just write my homework or my class project?+
No. It will write a smaller, different example to show a concept, but it will not produce the solution to the task you were set. If you paste an assignment it turns it into a lesson: it asks what you have tried, sets you the first step, and waits. That is the point of it, and it is also why the code you hand in is yours.
Is it current with modern .NET, or stuck on old C#?+
The syllabus is built on the parts of the language that are stable: types, generics, LINQ, interfaces, exceptions, async and await. It teaches modern defaults where they matter, such as nullable reference types, records, pattern matching and top level statements, and it flags when a feature needs a recent language version rather than assuming yours.
Do I have to read it myself?+
No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
