How do I use this AI QuickBooks tutor?+
Paste it into a Claude Project, a custom GPT or a Gemini Gem, then say what business the books are for and what you find confusing. It asks a few questions, sets your level and starts lesson one. You do the work in your own QuickBooks file and report what a report showed or what the reconciliation difference is. Each session ends with a progress block you paste back.
Should I paste my real financial data into it?+
You do not need to. Describe the shape of the problem instead: the account type, the amount, the date, whether it was matched or added. Every lesson works on figures you make up or round off. Keep customer names, bank details and anything identifying out of the chat. The tutor will ask for the smallest fact it needs, not for a bank export.
Is it QuickBooks Online or Desktop, and does it replace an accountant?+
Lessons are written for QuickBooks Online, which is what most new users buy, and it names where Desktop differs. It teaches bookkeeping, not tax advice. It will not tell you what is deductible in your country, and it will say when a question belongs to your accountant, such as year end adjustments, payroll filings or how to treat a specific expense.
Do I have to read it myself?+
No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
