CPQ quotes take 4 minutes to calculate - 80 price rules, nested bundles 5 levels deep, and sales bypasses CPQ for 'urgent' deals. Tune or re-implement?

Four-minute calc is almost always price rule evaluation order, not bundle depth - 80 rules firing on every line recalculation compounds fast, and half typically duplicate logic that belongs in one lookup table rule. Audit which rules target the same fields, consolidate into lookup queries, and cap evaluation events; that usually cuts calc time by two thirds. But the bypass is the real revenue leak: every 'urgent' deal outside CPQ is an unenforced discount schedule. Five-level nesting also suggests bundles modeling what should be guided selling. Send the price rule export and I'll mark the consolidation candidates.
