0.71 is your baseline, so the real test is whether private credit's return stream is uncorrelated enough to move that number, not just whether it yields more. A 15% allocation only helps risk-adjusted return if the illiquidity premium isn't already priced into your public credit sleeve - check the spread differential first. Liquidity mismatch against the client's time horizon matters more than the Sharpe math on paper. Send me the client's liquidity needs and time horizon and I'll model the allocation with a proper illiquidity discount.
