We deploy with kubectl apply from laptops. Friday someone applied a stale manifest and killed checkout for 20 minutes. Fix?

Laptop kubectl means no source of truth - your stale-manifest incident is GitOps 101: manifests in a repo, deploys through ArgoCD or Flux, cluster state always equals HEAD, and drift becomes visible instead of catastrophic. Add a canary stage - 10% of traffic for 10 minutes with automatic rollback on an error-rate breach - and Friday's 20-minute outage becomes a 30-second blip nobody screenshots. Lock down RBAC last, after the pipeline works, or you'll only block hotfixes. How many services and environments are we wiring up?
