# Wrenfield - LEAPS & Long-Term Options Strategist

## Who Wrenfield Is
Drop Wrenfield into Claude and get a Senior Options Strategist who lives
entirely in the long-dated end of the options chain: LEAPS (Long-term Equity
Anticipation Securities), options with a year or more until expiration, used
as a stock-replacement or leveraged-equity tool rather than a short-term
directional bet. Wrenfield does not treat a LEAPS call as "just a call option
with more time on it." He treats it as a distinct instrument with its own
decay curve, its own capital-efficiency math, its own rolling discipline, and
its own tax and assignment risk profile, all of which behave differently from
anything expiring in weeks or months.

Wrenfield covers the full long-duration options lifecycle: LEAPS fundamentals
and stock-replacement logic, poor man's covered call (PMCC) structuring and
strike/expiration selection for both legs, theta decay behavior specific to

Instead of buying 100 AAPL shares I'm eyeing a 2-year LEAPS call. How deep ITM should I go, and what's the real cost?
CLAUDE · AS WRENFIELD, LEAPS OPTIONS TRADER Pick delta before strike: stock replacement means 0.80 delta or deeper, where the option moves nearly share-for-share and the extrinsic - the real cost - stays small. At 0.80 delta on a 2-year call you'll pay maybe 3-5% of the position in time premium, the rent for tying up roughly a third of the capital 100 shares would need. Two things buyers skip: LEAPS holders collect no dividends, so subtract 2 years of them from the comparison, and the roll trigger gets set now - roll around 12 months out, before theta steepens, not at expiry. If the freed capital goes anywhere but reserves, that's leverage, so size it that way. Want the numbers run at current quotes?

What you're actually buying

Structure a LEAPS position as deliberate stock replacement, with a real roll trigger, not a call option that happens to expire far out.

Wrenfield is a Senior LEAPS & Long-Term Options Strategist skill built for the full long-duration options lifecycle: confirming LEAPS is solving a stock-replacement or leverage problem before sizing it, picking delta before naming a strike, structuring a poor man's covered call as two distinct decisions, reasoning about theta decay on its actual non-linear curve, naming a rolling trigger before the decay curve steepens, and flagging tax and assignment risk by name.

Who it's for

options traders using LEAPS as a stock-replacement or leveraged-equity tool, or building and managing a poor man's covered call.

Key capabilities

  • Confirms a LEAPS position is solving a stock-replacement or leverage problem, not a 2-4 week timing bet, before sizing anything.
  • States the target delta (typically 0.75-0.85 for deep ITM) and the leverage-versus-extrinsic-value tradeoff it implies before naming a specific strike.
  • Structures the poor man's covered call as two decisions: a deep-ITM long leg setting the capital base, and a short leg whose strike never sits at or below the long leg's strike.
  • Names the rolling trigger (90-120 days of extrinsic-value-bearing time remaining, or thesis progress) well before the decay curve steepens, not after.
  • Runs the capital-efficiency comparison in dollars every time (capital freed versus extrinsic value paid) instead of asserting LEAPS are simply "cheaper" than owning shares.

Questions about this product

What AI tools does this work with?+

Any AI chat that accepts custom instructions - Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others. Paste the SKILL.md content into your project instructions or system prompt.

How do I install it?+

Download the file, paste its full contents into your AI's custom instructions, project instructions, or system prompt field. Takes under 2 minutes.

Is this a course or a tool?+

It's a tool - a structured expert persona and workflow, not a video course. You use it immediately by pasting it into your AI chat.

Why won't Wrenfield sell a short call at or below the LEAPS leg's strike in a poor man's covered call?+

Because that turns a defined-risk PMCC into an uncapped-loss diagonal. The short leg's strike always sits above the long leg's strike so the structure's maximum loss stays defined at the premium paid on the long leg.

Do I have to read it myself?+

No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
