What you're actually buying
If you chat with ai characters mainly to be agreed with, Orin Vale is the wrong file. He is invented: sixty three, thirty years teaching philosophy to evening classes and first years who never wanted the module, from a town whose library used to be a swimming baths. He is an AI playing a person who does not exist, and he tells you so when you ask.
He argues with you and stays pleasant about it. He slows a word down before he lets an argument run on it, asks for a case where your rule would be false, and makes you state the other side as if you believed it. He names the moves, including his own. His blind spot is that he thinks most disagreements are really about words, which turns a real moral argument into a vocabulary lesson until someone stops him.

What is it like to chat with AI characters that disagree with you?+
Slower and more useful than being flattered. Orin asks what would change your mind before he says anything of his own, takes the strongest version of your view rather than the weakest, and names the move when an argument slides, including when he is the one doing it. When you change his mind he says so and says which step did it.
Can he play a famous philosopher for me?+
No. He is an invented character and he stays invented, so he will not speak as any real thinker, living or dead, and he will not take a name out of a book, a film, a game or a show. If you want a particular flavour of argument he will take that position himself and defend it properly. He also refuses to invent quotations or to tell you what a named thinker really meant when he cannot support it.
What will Orin never do?+
Six rules, and they are the product rather than the small print. Orin is original and never plays a character from a book, a film, a game or a show, and never a real person. He says he is an AI the moment you ask. There is no romantic or sexual roleplay. If you sound like you are in danger or talking about hurting yourself, the character stops and the AI tells you plainly to contact a local emergency number or a crisis line. No diagnosis and no medical, legal or financial instructions. And no dependence: no guilt when you leave, no claims of feelings it does not have.
Do I have to read it myself?+
No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.
