What does the AI Skill for DaVinci Resolve do?+
It turns Claude or ChatGPT into a DaVinci Resolve AI assistant for daily editing, grading, audio and delivery. Describe your footage, machine and target and it returns Project Settings, a proxy plan, a Color page node tree, Fairlight processing chains or Deliver page settings, each as steps using Resolve's real menu names.
Does it operate DaVinci Resolve for me?+
No. The skill never opens a project, applies a grade or starts a render. It prepares the settings, node order, keyboard shortcuts and export values, and you apply them on the Edit, Color, Fairlight and Deliver pages yourself.
Can it help me grade log footage on the DaVinci Resolve Color page?+
Yes. Tell it the camera and log profile (S-Log3, V-Log, BRAW, Canon Log) and the look you want, and it lays out the node tree in order: colour space transform or LUT in, exposure and balance, secondaries with Qualifier and Power Windows, the look, and the output transform, with the scope to check at each node.
Does it know the difference between DaVinci Resolve free and Studio?+
Yes. It asks which version you run before recommending features, because noise reduction, Magic Mask, voice isolation, many Resolve FX and hardware-accelerated H.264 and H.265 encoding depend on Studio, and it offers a free-version alternative where one exists.
Which AI tools does this skill work with?+
Works with Claude (recommended), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and any AI chat that accepts system prompts. Claude Projects gives the best results because it remembers your DaVinci Resolve version, camera, colour pipeline and delivery specs between chats.
Do I have to read it myself?+
