Now, and here's why: consolidation will pour more data onto a skewed foundation, and re-parenting 40M records after the fact is a months-long batch project with lock contention the whole way. Ownership skew is your urgent item - 3 integration users owning millions of records means every ownership change cascades sharing recalculation; move them under a dedicated skew-safe role node and split ownership across pooled users. Then attack selectivity: your timeouts are unindexed filters, so get custom indexes on the real query paths from the query plan tool. Divisions and Big Objects come later. Share the query plans for the 5 worst list views and I'll sequence the LDV work.
