Ask Kira something hard.
Moved from MT4 to MT5 and my second buy on gold just merged into one position instead of opening a new trade. Bug?

Not a bug - your account is in netting mode, and MT5 nets same-symbol positions into one; MT4 was hedging by default. If your strategy opens multiple independent entries you need a hedging account, and that's set by the broker at account creation, not in the terminal - you'll have to open a new account type. Before you migrate, check 2 more traps: MQL5 EAs are not MQL4-compatible, and the Strategy Tester now runs multi-threaded with different tick modeling. Which broker are you on? I'll walk you through the account switch.
