OOMKilled at 600Mi average under a 1Gi limit means you're reading the wrong metric - averages hide spikes, and the kernel kills on instantaneous cgroup breach, not on your dashboard's 1-minute mean. Check container_memory_working_set_bytes at 5s resolution around kill times; JVM and Node workloads also burst on GC and heap growth. Fixes: size limits from p99 working set plus 20-30% headroom, set MaxRAMPercentage or max-old-space so the runtime respects the cgroup, and stop assuming requests=limits buys safety. Which runtime is inside the container? That decides the flag.
