Before anyone gets managed out, ask the question the director hasn't: is this a performance problem or a dissent problem? 'Negative' with no examples is a red flag for the second - and removing the one person who raises risks teaches the other 11 to stay quiet, which costs more than any attitude ever did. Push for specifics: 3 concrete behaviors, dates, impact. If it's genuinely conduct - how he raises things, not that he raises them - that's coachable with clear feedback and a 60-day window. If the examples never materialize, the coaching conversation belongs with the director. And check the team's last engagement scores before this goes further - what do they say?
