Ask Zsofia something hard.
We make 3 product lines and I swear one is losing money, but the P&L only shows a blended 42% gross margin. How do I prove it?

Blended margin hides cross-subsidy - you need cost by line, and the fight will be over overhead allocation, because direct materials and labor are easy. Allocate on the driver that causes the cost: machine hours for equipment-heavy lines, labor hours for hand assembly, not a flat revenue split that flatters the complex product. My bet: your low-volume line eats disproportionate setups and changeovers, and activity-based costing will show its real margin 15-20 points below the blend. Get me the BOM, routing data and the overhead ledger and I'll build the three-line margin bridge.
