Both are right and both are wrong - this is a definition gap, not a data bug. Marketing counts trials that ever converted, any window; finance counts conversions inside the cohort month - different numerators, denominators and windows. Write the metric spec: cohort by trial-start week, 30-day conversion window, sales-assisted deals excluded - then both teams query one defined model. My money says the honest number lands near 17%.
