ATS report
// How ATS screening works
Why good resumes get filtered out
The ATS parses
Software like Workday, Greenhouse or Lever turns your file into text. Tables, columns and graphics often get scrambled.
It matches keywords
Recruiters search and rank by the skills and titles in the job ad. Missing exact terms pushes you down the list.
A human skims
The top matches get a six-second look. Clear headings and numbers decide whether they read on.
You tailor and resend
Add the missing keywords where they are true, fix the flagged issues and check again until the score climbs.
// Checklist
An ATS-friendly resume in eight rules
- One column, no tables or text boxes for key content.
- Standard headings: Summary, Experience, Skills, Education.
- Exact keywords from the job ad, used honestly and in context.
- Job title match: mirror the target title in your summary if it fits.
- Numbers in every role: revenue, time saved, team size, volume.
- Simple file: .docx or a text-based PDF, not a scanned image.
- Dates in one format, month and year, for every role.
- No headers or footers for contact details; many parsers skip them.

ATS resume checker questions
Is this ATS resume checker free?
Yes. No sign-up and no payment. Each visitor can run up to 10 checks per day so the free AI stays available for everyone.
Is my resume stored?
No. Your resume and the job description are sent to our AI once and never saved, shared or used for training. Only the report is cached anonymously for up to 24 hours so an identical request is instant.
What is a good ATS score?
Aim for 75 or higher against a specific job description. Above 85 usually means your resume covers the key skills and titles. Treat the number as a guide; the missing keywords and fixes matter more.
Can I upload a PDF or Word file?
Paste the text instead. Copying from your file also shows you what an ATS sees: if the text comes out jumbled, the ATS will struggle too.
Should I add every missing keyword?
Only the ones that are true for you. Put them in context in your experience bullets and skills section. Keyword stuffing gets caught by the human reader.
Does it work for any job or country?
Yes, for English-language resumes and job ads in any field. It checks the same signals most ATS platforms use: keywords, titles, structure and clarity.
