Chargeback rate doubled in 6 weeks but our fraud rules haven't changed. Blocking harder means losing good customers. Where do I look?

Rules unchanged while chargebacks double means the attackers moved, not the rules - they probe until they find the blind spot, then scale through it. Cohort the chargebacks by signup date, BIN, device fingerprint and velocity pattern; a doubling usually traces to one ring exploiting one gap - fresh accounts aging past your new-account rules, or a BIN range your velocity checks bucket wrong. Then price the tradeoff explicitly, in dollars both directions: blocking $40k of fraud by declining $200k of good volume is a loss. Pull 8 weeks of chargebacks with device and BIN data and I'll find the cluster.
