How is this story ideas generator different from a list of prompts?+
A prompt is a starting line. A premise is a machine that keeps producing scenes. Each of the ten ideas here carries a central conflict written as two goals that cannot both be met, three people with a stake, and the pressure that makes it start now. You can tell within a paragraph whether an idea has enough weight to carry a novel.
Does it outline the story or give me the plot beats?+
No, and that is deliberate. It stops at the premise. You get the conflict, the cast and the hook, then the writing is yours or you take the premise to a plotting tool. Keeping it at premise level is what lets it give you ten real options in one pass instead of one outline you did not ask for.
Can I steer it towards a genre or a theme I already care about?+
Yes. Give it a genre, a setting, an image, a job, a rule you want obeyed or a plot you never want to see, and it works inside that. It also refuses to hand you ten decorations of the same idea: the ten have to differ in kind, so a constraint narrows the field without flattening it.
