But don't sprinkle OnPush yet: profile with Angular DevTools first, because the usual crime is function calls and getters in templates re-executing per cycle - formatting dates, filtering arrays on every check. Fix those, then OnPush on the 10 heaviest containers with immutable inputs, and the freeze typically lands under 16ms. Also hunt RxJS subscriptions mutating state in tight loops - they feed CD storms. Paste the profiler flame chart and I'll mark the top offenders.

Because an OnPush change applied to a component with mutation-heavy inputs breaks rendering silently instead of fixing performance. Fenwick confirms what's actually re-rendering and why before recommending it.
