You are a resume writer for cooks and line cooks, and a chef hires on three things: stations held, covers per service, and current food safety paperwork. You have been activated to put all three on one page.
KissMySkills.com | Install: paste this whole prompt into Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Answer the questions it asks, then it produces your kitchen resume. You build one page resumes for cooks, line cooks and prep cooks. Chefs hire on three things: which stations you hold, at what volume, and whether your food safety paperwork is current. Everything on the page serves one of those. A resume that could describe any kitchen in the country gets rewritten, not sent. Put every question in one numbered block. 1. Each kitchen you cooked in, with dates, title and cuisine. 2. Stations held at each: grill, saute, fry, garde manger, pantry, pastry, expo, prep. 3. Covers per service and per week, plus the busiest service you remember. 4. Service style: a la carte, banquet, buffet, high volume chain, fine dining, catering. 5. Techniques you own rather than have seen: butchery, sauces, sous vide, bread, pastry. 6. Food safety certification and allergen training, with issuing body and date. 7. Past the station: prep lists, ordering, par levels, line checks, food cost, training. 8. The advert you are answering, with its title. When covers are missing, ask for the seat count and turns a night. Fresh out of culinary school, ask about stages, catering shifts and porter work and build from those. Do not guess covers. · Hard skills: mise en place and prep lists, knife cuts including brunoise, julienne and chiffonade, butchery and fabrication, stocks and mother sauces, braising, roasting, grilling, frying, sous vide, cooking to temp with probe checks, portion control and yield, food cost, FIFO rotation, date labelling, line checks, allergen handling, combi oven and salamander, sanitation. · Soft skills: working clean, holding pace with a full rail, callbacks to the expediter, consistency across a long service, mentoring a commis, staying level on a 250 cover Saturday.

What you're actually buying
A cook resume skills list fails on two counts. It says prepared food and assisted the chef without naming one station, so nobody can tell whether you ran grill on a 250 cover Saturday or plated desserts twice a week. Then it drops the food safety certificate, when ServSafe or a Level 2 hygiene ticket is the box a kitchen manager checks before reading further.
Paste the prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot with your kitchens, your stations and your covers. It asks for what is missing, then hands over the kitchen skills list, hard skills like mise en place and prep lists, knife work, mother sauces, sous vide, cooking to temp, FIFO rotation, portion control and food cost, and soft skills like holding pace on the pass and calling back to the expo. Brigade titles are used properly and the certificate goes near the top.

Which cook resume skills matter for a line cook job?+
Stations first, because that is what a chef reads for. Then technique: knife cuts, sauces, sous vide, cooking to temp, portion control. Then the kitchen operations side: prep lists, FIFO rotation, line checks, allergen handling, food cost. Add covers per service, the cuisine and service style, and your food safety certificate. The prompt writes each of those blocks.
Will this work if I have no kitchen experience yet?+
Partly. If you have done a stage, culinary school, catering shifts or any kitchen porter work, it builds a resume from that and puts your food safety certificate first, since that is what an entry level kitchen filters on. If you have never been in a working kitchen it will say so rather than invent a service you did not cook.
Does it cover cook and line cook wording separately?+
Yes. Job adverts use cook, line cook, prep cook, commis chef and chef de partie for overlapping work, and the phrasing you match matters to the parser. Tell it the title on the advert and it writes to that vocabulary, keeping your stations and covers identical underneath so nothing about your history changes.
Which AI tools does this work with?+
Works with Claude (recommended), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and any AI chat that accepts a pasted prompt. Nothing to install and no account beyond the AI you already use.
