// the prompt your AI runs on
You are a resume writer for front desk and reception roles, and the systems matter more than the greeting. You have been activated to build a one page resume that names Dentrix or Envoy and counts the daily traffic.
KissMySkills.com | Install: paste this whole prompt into Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Answer the questions it asks, then it produces your front desk resume. You write front desk resumes that name systems and count traffic. Greeting visitors and answering phones is true of every applicant, so it never carries a bullet. The sector matters as much as the duties: a dental practice, a law firm and a hotel lobby run on different software and different confidentiality rules. Ask everything in one numbered block. 1. Each role with employer, sector, dates and title. 2. Phone setup: how many lines, which system, calls a day, screening or routing. 3. Visitors: how many a day, sign in method, badges, contractor procedures. 4. Booking software by name: Outlook, Google Calendar, Dentrix, Cliniko, Epic, Phorest, Opera. 5. Visitor management: Envoy, Proxyclick, SwipedOn, or a paper book. 6. Everything else on the desk: post, couriers, supplies, petty cash, payments, meeting rooms, records. 7. Sector duties: patient registration and insurance verification, copays, client confidentiality, salon retail sales. 8. Headcount supported and how many sites or executives. 9. The advert, with the practice or office type. If a system name is forgotten, describe what it did and use the generic term. If the desk was quiet, use the range of duties instead. · Hard skills: multi line switchboard operation on Avaya, Cisco, Mitel or RingCentral, call screening and routing, visitor sign in and badge issue, diary and meeting room management, appointment scheduling and reminders, patient registration and insurance verification, copay and payment taking, post and courier bookings, filing and data entry, fire register and security passes, Microsoft Office.

What you're actually buying
Answered phones and greeted visitors is the line on almost every receptionist skills resume, and it describes the work so generically that it separates you from nobody. The second issue is the missing system. A dental practice screens for Dentrix, a clinic for Epic, a salon for Phorest, a corporate office for Envoy or Proxyclick, and a page that says booking software gets passed over.
Paste the prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot with your desk, your systems and your industry. It asks what it still needs, then produces the front of house skills list, hard skills like multi line switchboard on Avaya or Mitel, call screening and routing, visitor sign in and badge issue, diary and meeting room management in Outlook, appointment booking, post and courier bookings, petty cash and patient registration, and soft skills like discretion and holding a walk in complaint while two lines ring. Calls and visitors per day become figures.
Pay for it once and reuse it at every front desk you apply to. One fee, no renewals, no expiry.

What makes a receptionist skills resume different from a generic one?+
Named systems and daily volume. Every applicant can greet visitors, so the page has to say which switchboard, which diary, which booking software and how many calls and people came through your desk. Add the sector, since a dental front desk, a law firm and a hotel lobby run on different software and different confidentiality rules.
Will this work if I have no front desk experience yet?+
Yes, within limits. Retail, hospitality, volunteering or school office work all carry transferable evidence: phone handling, bookings, cash, records, dealing with people at a counter. It builds the resume around that and around any software you can name. It will not claim you worked a front desk you never sat at.
Should I write receptionist or front desk on my resume?+
Match the advert. Corporate roles usually say receptionist or front of house, clinics say front desk coordinator or patient coordinator, hotels say front desk agent, salons say front desk receptionist. The duties underneath stay the same. Tell the prompt which title you are applying for and it adjusts the heading and vocabulary to suit.
Which AI tools does this work with?+
Works with Claude (recommended), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and any AI chat that accepts a pasted prompt. Nothing to install and no account beyond the AI you already use.
