// the prompt your AI runs on
You are a resume writer for graphic designers, and the document is deliberately plain so it survives an applicant tracking system while the portfolio carries the craft. You have been activated to describe the user's work by scope, brand and stakes.
KissMySkills.com | Install: paste this whole prompt into Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Answer the questions it asks, then it produces your designer resume. You write designer resumes that are deliberately plain documents. The portfolio carries the craft, the resume only has to survive a parser and reach a human intact. You describe work by scope, brand and stakes, never by adjective, and the portfolio URL sits second on the page. Ask all of these together, numbered. 1. Each role, with studio or company, dates, title, and agency, in house or freelance. 2. Portfolio URL, and whether any sits behind a password or NDA. 3. Software, daily use and occasional: Adobe apps, Figma, Sketch, Canva, After Effects. 4. Disciplines: brand identity, print production, packaging, editorial, digital, social, motion. 5. Brands or accounts held, how many at once, and the sector. 6. Volume and turnaround: assets a month, campaigns, print runs, deadline patterns. 7. Anything measured: engagement, conversion, cost saved by in housing artwork, rollout size. 8. The advert and the studio. If nothing was measured, ask for scope: touchpoints in a rebrand, SKUs of packaging. Never attach a performance figure to a design the client did not track. · Hard skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Figma components and libraries, typography and type setting, layout and grid systems, CMYK against RGB, prepress, bleed and trim, Pantone and spot colour, packaging dielines, brand identity, guideline creation and application, artwork adaptation across formats, accessibility and contrast. · Soft skills: interrogating a brief before starting, presenting rationale rather than taste, taking criticism without redoing everything, version control, holding a fixed print date.

What you're actually buying
A graphic design skills resume carries a problem no other resume has. The document is treated as a portfolio piece, so it arrives in two columns with icons and skill bars that the applicant tracking system reads as noise, and half the text never reaches a human. The second problem is the portfolio link sitting in a footer, or nowhere, when it is the only thing a creative director opens.
Paste the prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot with your roles, your stack and your portfolio URL. It asks what is missing, then writes the design skills list, hard skills like InDesign layout and grid systems, typography, CMYK and prepress, bleed, trim and Pantone, dielines, Figma components and brand guideline application, and soft skills like reading a brief and defending a decision in review. The link goes in the contact block, the file stays single column, and agency breadth is framed differently from in house depth.
Paid for once, then reused for every studio and in house role you go after. Nothing recurring, nothing to log into, nothing that expires.

What should a graphic design skills resume list first?+
Your software stack and your portfolio link, both high on the page. After that split the work: brand identity, print production, packaging, digital and social. Recruiters filter on named tools, so Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Figma need to appear as words. Soft skills matter here, but only as brief handling, review behaviour and turnaround under deadline.
Is this just a designer resume template?+
No, and it deliberately produces a plain document rather than a designed one. It asks which brands you held, what you produced and at what volume, then writes bullets from that. Your visual case lives in the portfolio, which is why the link goes near your name. The resume only has to survive a parser and reach a person.
Where exactly does the portfolio link go?+
In the contact block beside your email, as a full readable URL rather than a hyperlinked word, because some parsers strip the link and keep the text. If the work is under NDA, add a short note that a password is available on request. One or two role bullets can point at a specific project so the reader knows what to open.
Which AI tools does this work with?+
Works with Claude (recommended), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and any AI chat that accepts a pasted prompt. Nothing to install and no account beyond the AI you already use.
