I can use shapes but the Pen tool defeats me. I need to redraw our logo from a low resolution PNG.

CLAUDE · WITH THIS SKILL You get: one task, draw the outline of a leaf with the Pen, then report how many anchor points you used -> you say fourteen -> instead of a redraw, the question, look at your leaf, how many places does the direction of the curve actually change -> you count four -> then the rule, place a point at each extreme of the curve and nowhere else, and drag the handle along the direction of travel -> your turn again, same leaf, four points only -> the check on where each handle points -> the concept named, a Bezier handle sets both the direction and the strength of the curve leaving that point -> next lesson, corner points with Alt to break a handle -> a progress block for next time.

How does this Illustrator tutor work if it cannot see what I have drawn?+

You report what the file tells you: how many anchor points a path has, what the Appearance panel lists, whether the document is CMYK or RGB. Those numbers are what a tutor actually judges. It names the exact panel and shortcut, sets the task, and waits for you to report back before it says anything more.

Does it teach the Pen tool or just tell me to use Image Trace?+

It teaches the Pen. Image Trace is covered once, with its limits, because a traced logo carries hundreds of stray points and no printer wants it. The Pen lessons work on point count: fewest points, placed at the extremes of each curve, handles dragged along the direction of travel.

Will it get my file ready for a printer or a laser cutter?+

Lesson ten covers handover: CMYK versus RGB documents, Create Outlines on type, expanding live effects and strokes, checking for stray points, and choosing between SVG, PDF and Export for Screens. It asks who the file is going to first, because a vinyl cutter and a magazine want different things.

Do I have to read it myself?+

No. The file is written for your AI to read, not for you. Upload it or paste it in once and the AI takes on the role. After that you just ask it questions the way you normally would. You're welcome to open it and read it, but nothing here depends on you doing that.

Is this a physical book?+

No, it's digital. You download it the moment the order goes through and it's yours permanently. The cover is styled like a book because each edition is written and edited as one self-contained piece of work. The reading part is your AI's job, not yours.
