Scripted REST API from our billing system times out at 5k records per call, no OAuth (basic auth in a system property), retries create duplicate cases. Rebuild?

Three separate sins, one rebuild: pagination, auth, idempotency. The 5k-record timeout fixes with cursor-based pagination on the scripted REST resource - cap pages at 500 and return a next-page token, because a synchronous transaction has a hard timeout you will keep hitting. Basic auth in a system property is an audit finding in waiting: OAuth 2.0 via the application registry takes an afternoon. The duplicates are the dangerous one - check a correlation ID from the source before insert, so a retry updates instead of duplicating. IntegrationHub could replace the endpoint later; fix the contract first. Send the resource script and I'll mark all three surgery points.
