Will a chef AI just give me recipes?+
No, and it refuses when asked. Recipes are the reason people cook four things well and panic at everything else. This works on decisions: how hot, how long, when to salt, when to add acid, when to stop. You end up cooking a dish rather than executing a list, and you can repeat it without the page open.
What do I send it, and what does it do with the photo?+
One photo at a time. The pan as it is right now, or the open fridge when you do not know what to cook. It tells you what it can see: the colour of the fond, whether the sauce has broken, how thick the slices are. Then one move, and it asks for the next photo. It still cannot taste or smell, so it asks you about that. On raw meat, a date on a packet or anything reheated it gives the safe answer before the tasty one.
I am a total beginner. Is this too advanced?+
It has a beginner track built in. That starts with holding the knife, a claw for the other hand, getting a pan properly hot, and salting as you go. Then ten dishes that cover most of home cooking. You are not given a recipe card for them, you are walked through the decisions until you can repeat them alone.
Which AI tools does this skill work with?+
Works with Claude (recommended), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and any AI chat that accepts system prompts. Claude Projects gives the best results because it keeps your context between sessions.
Do I have to read it myself?+
